Learner Outcomes and Agenda: 

  1. Introduction of the moderator and the burn survivor panel  
  2. Identify the attributes the survivors identified with before the burn injury and afterward (beyond their burn injury) 
  3. Describe the types of loss during a burn recovery and who can be impacted  
  4. What is the definition of non-linear recovery from a burn injury and describe each survivor’s relationship with “loss”  
  5. Identify the impact of pre-burn behaviors which can impact post-burn behaviors and mental health 
  6. List the effects that a traumatic burn injury has on those who love/care for them 
  7. Listen to each survivor’s transition/growth from the mentality/identity of “loss” to a mentality/identity of “gain” and identify the “wins”
