The Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors is dedicated to the healthcare professionals serving the burn community.  At the conclusion of the course, please direct all questions for the provider to the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors at phoenixeducation@phoenix-society.org.  A representative will respond to your questions.  


Learner Outcomes and Agenda:

  1. Introduction- 5 minutes  
  2. Identify the mission, values, and history of the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors – 5 minutes 
  3. List the key programs, resources, and services that support burn survivors, families, and professionals – 5 minutes 
  4. Outline the benefits to the burn survivor and caregivers who attend the Phoenix World Burn Congress – 5 minutes 
  5. Identify the survivor recovery phases of the Journey Forward Program – 15 minutes  
  6. Describe the science behind the Phoenix SOAR program (peer support) which fosters connection and advocacy – 15 minutes 
  7. Identify the benefits to burn survivors and burn centers with the Phoenix Information & Referrals Program - 10 minutes  
  8. Identify how peer support, education, and collaboration enhance burn survivors' recovery and resilience (Survivor Panel) - 20 minutes 


Post-Course Activity:

  1.  Reflect on your knowledge prior to and after the presentation and how you will incorporate this learning into your clinical practice. 
  2. Develop a strategy to educate your colleagues and incorporate into aftercare discharge planning.
